Welcome back to Room 8 - 2017!
I hope you have all had a wonderful, eventful holiday filled with lots of happy memories!
We have a very exciting year ahead.
This blog will be where i share all parent notices and information that is important for you to know and be aware of so PLEASE check this blog regularly!
I will also be displaying and sharing children's work, photos of events etc on here so please be a regular visitor and comment on anything you like. We will be checking the blog regularly as a class to read comments from parents and other teachers and students.
As you all know Room 8 is a classroom in the library. We have 25 students in this classroom. Not all children will have a 'desk' but there is plenty of work stations available for all students and they will be given the chance to make good choices about where they will work for different things. The children will be putting their books/personal items either inside a desk or in a tote tray that is in the classroom.
Room 8 students will be working collaboratively with Room 6 and Room 7 students for literacy, maths and also deep learning - topic learning. This collaborative programme was a huge success last year and Mrs Williams, Mrs Stamper and I carefully plan, monitor and make this learning beneficial for every child.
Coming up this term ...
This term, 6 - 8 March the year 5 and 6 students are going on school camp!!!! (very exciting!!)
This camp is at Living Springs. I will be sending home notices on day 1 for this. Please make sure you read ALL of the information and fill in ALL of the forms necessary and send back to school quickly. We need this information to continue planning the camp.
This term we will be practising for our school cross country event which is held week 2 of term 2. We will be having our running practise/fitness training BEFORE school on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Each teacher will take turns to supervise the children running around the back field. Students need to have sport shoes and sports gear in their bags EVERY DAY!
We will be having our Ash Wednesday Mass on the 1 March in the church and our Easter Liturgy which will be on Thursday 13 April in the church - which is also our last day of Term 1.
